Magic: The Gathering Announces Special Sonic the Hedgehog Collection – Check Out the New Cards

Hasbro and Sega have joined forces for an unprecedented collaboration: Magic: The Gathering will receive a special edition based on the Sonic the Hedgehog universe. The partnership will result in three Secret Lair collections, featuring exclusive cards and original artwork of the franchise’s iconic characters.

What Is the Secret Lair Collection?

Secret Lair collections are limited-edition Magic: The Gathering releases outside the game’s standard cycle, featuring unique themes and exclusive artwork. This time, Sonic fans can get their hands on cards featuring characters like Sonic, Shadow, Tails, Dr. Eggman, and more, available in both standard and foil versions.

• Secret Lair x Sonic: Friends & Foes (7 cards) – $39.99 (standard) / $49.99 (foil)

• Secret Lair x Sonic: Chasing Adventure – $29.99 (standard) / $39.99 (foil)

• Secret Lair x Sonic: Turbo Gear – $29.99 (standard) / $39.99 (foil)

The collections will be available starting July 14 on the official MagicSecretLair.com website.

Exclusive Artwork and Collaborations

Wizards of the Coast worked with renowned Sonic artists, including some who are contributing to Magiccards for the first time. The illustrations capture the dynamic essence of the world’s fastest hedgehog, with vibrant colors and unique details.

This isn’t the first time Magic: The Gathering has teamed up with gaming franchises—recently, a Final Fantasy-themed collection was released. However, the Sonic edition stands out for its high-speed, nostalgic aesthetic.
