It’s time for Michigan’s final football game of the season.

Michigan (9–3, tied for fourth in the Big Ten) is facing the Texas Longhorns (9–3, tied for fifth in the SEC) in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida, on Wednesday, Dec. 31. Kickoff was at 3 p.m. ET, with the game airing on ABC.

Late in the fourth quarter, Texas leads Michigan 41–27.

This game closes out a hectic December for the Wolverines. The month began with a 27–9 loss to Ohio State, followed by the dismissal of head coach Sherrone Moore and the subsequent hiring of new head coach Kyle Whittingham.

Michigan now has an opportunity to secure a 10-win season for the fourth time in five years — and the first since former head coach Jim Harbaugh departed for the NFL ahead of the 2024 season.

The Wolverines have won their last three bowl appearances: two during their 2023 national championship run (a Rose Bowl victory over Alabama and the CFP title win over Washington), plus the 2024 ReliaQuest Bowl win against Alabama. A win over Texas would give Michigan a four-game bowl winning streak for just the second time in program history, matching the run from 1997–2000.
