NFL Week 6 Wraps Up with Monday Night Football Doubleheader
Week 6 of the NFL concludes with a Monday Night Football doubleheader featuring two exciting matchups: the Buffalo Bills visit the Atlanta Falcons at 7:15 p.m. ET, followed by the Chicago Bears taking on the Washington Commanders at 8:15 p.m. ET.
Buffalo looks to bounce back from its first loss of the season, while Atlanta returns from a bye week in search of its third win. Chicago also had Week 5 off, and Washington aims to keep its momentum going after a dominant win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Bills suffered a narrow 23–20 defeat to division rival New England Patriots in Week 5, falling to 4–1. Now they face the Falcons (2–2) for the first time since 2022, when Buffalo claimed a 29–15 victory. The Bills have won the last two meetings between the teams, dating back to 2017. The Falcons defeated the Commanders 34–27 before their bye week and need to keep pace in the NFC South, where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lead at 4–1. Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. shined in that win, completing 20 of 26 passes for 313 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.
Despite last week’s setback, Buffalo still holds a one-game lead in the AFC East. Quarterback Josh Allen turned in a strong performance against New England, completing 22 of 31 passes for 253 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. He also led the team in rushing with 53 yards. The Bills remain among the AFC’s top contenders—alongside Indianapolis and Jacksonville—and aim to get back on track in Week 6.
The Washington Commanders impressed in their Week 5 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, winning 27–10. Their defense dominated, holding Justin Herbert to just 166 passing yards and one touchdown, while recording an interception and four sacks. Quarterback Jayden Daniels, returning from injury, did enough to secure the win with 231 yards, one touchdown, and a 58% completion rate. Washington will look to repeat that performance at home against the Bears to stay competitive in the NFC East.
Meanwhile, the Chicago Bears enter on a two-game winning streak after beating the Las Vegas Raiders and Dallas Cowboys before their bye week. Rookie quarterback Caleb Williams is settling into head coach Ben Johnson’s system, completing 41 of 65 passes for 510 yards, five touchdowns, and just one interception over those two games. The Bears now aim to make it three straight wins and stay in the hunt in the tight NFC North race.
