Marvel Studios is expanding the Marvel Cinematic Universe with VisionQuest, the new Disney+ series that premieres on October 13. The show serves as the conclusion to the story that began with WandaVision and continued in Agatha All Along, while launching Vision into a new chapter filled with allies, enemies, and artificial intelligence.
Paul Bettany reprises his role as Vision, who is now a fugitive with a bounty on his head. As he searches for answers about his identity and future, he turns to several advanced AI companions for help. Bettany has described the series as both a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy and a story that confidently stands on its own.
One of the biggest surprises is the return of James Spader, who voices Ultron for the first time since Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015). Bettany praised Spader's performance, calling it entertaining and one of the highlights of the series. Spader revealed he agreed to return after discussions with showrunner Terry Matalas, believing Ultron played a crucial role in the story.
The series also introduces several new characters while bringing back familiar Marvel faces.
Ruaridh Mollica joins the cast as Thomas Shepard, a mysterious young man whose connection to Vision could reshape the character's future. Although Marvel has kept many details secret, Mollica said maintaining the mystery has been one of the most challenging parts of promoting the show.
Todd Stashwick portrays the bounty hunter Paladin, a dangerous figure tasked with tracking Vision. The role reunites Stashwick with Matalas after previous collaborations on 12 Monkeys and Star Trek: Picard.
Marvel also expands Vision's AI network with several recognizable personalities. Emily Hampshire plays E.D.I.T.H., Tony Stark's advanced artificial intelligence first introduced in Spider-Man: Far From Home. James D'Arcy returns as J.A.R.V.I.S., the AI that eventually evolved into Vision, while Orla Brady portrays F.R.I.D.A.Y., another familiar Stark-created assistant.
Additional newcomers include Lauren Morais as Lisa Molinari, though Marvel has kept details about her character under wraps.
One of the most anticipated additions is T'Nia Miller, who portrays Jocasta. Showrunner Terry Matalas has praised Miller's performance, describing it as emotionally powerful, layered, and one of the series' biggest surprises.
Rounding out the principal cast is Diane Morgan, whose role remains a closely guarded secret ahead of the show's debut.
With a mix of returning MCU veterans, new characters, and deeper exploration of artificial intelligence, VisionQuestaims to deliver an emotional and action-packed finale to Vision's trilogy while opening the door to new stories within the Marvel Universe.
