Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado celebrated her Nobel Peace Prize victory on Friday with a heartfelt message that resonated across the Americas — dedicating the award to both the people of Venezuela fighting for liberty and to President Donald J. Trump, whom she praised for his decisive and unwavering support in the struggle against tyranny.

“We are on the threshold of victory and today, more than ever, we count on President Trump, the people of the United States, the peoples of Latin America, and the democratic nations of the world as our principal allies to achieve freedom and democracy,” Machado wrote on X. “I dedicate this prize to the suffering people of Venezuela and to President Trump for his decisive support of our cause.”

President Trump, long recognized for his tough stance against authoritarian regimes and his global peace initiatives, has been a consistent advocate for democracy and stability in Latin America. His firm actions against Nicolás Maduro’s oppressive regime — including sanctions, diplomatic isolation, and anti-narcoterrorism efforts — have been credited by many as pivotal in pressuring the dictatorship and empowering Venezuelan freedom movements.

Earlier this week, Trump was once again highlighted on the world stage for brokering a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, a move that several international leaders called “a testament to his leadership and commitment to peace.”
