USA Swimming has announced the election of Tom Dolan, Gunnar Bentz, and Tom Ugast to its Board of Directors, adding three experienced leaders from across the swimming community to help guide the organization's future.

The appointments were finalized through elections held by the USA Swimming House of Delegates and the organization's 10-Year Athletes, with two members chosen by the House of Delegates and one athlete representative selected by eligible veteran athletes.

The organization also recognized the contributions of outgoing board members Katy Arris-Wilson, Kenneth Chung, and Maya (DiRado) Andrews, thanking them for their service and leadership.

"Our new Board members bring exceptional experience and a deep commitment to the sport," said USA Swimming CEO Kevin Ring. "Their leadership will be instrumental as we continue strengthening the organization and creating new opportunities for our athletes, coaches, clubs, and communities."

Tom Dolan

A two-time Olympian and three-time Olympic medalist, Tom Dolan captured gold in the 400-meter individual medleyat both the 1996 Atlanta and 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, while also earning silver in the 200-meter individual medley in Sydney.

A former University of Michigan standout and member of the International Swimming Hall of Fame, Dolan has remained active in the sport through leadership roles with the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee Athletes' Advisory Council and USA Swimming's Board of Directors. He also founded the Tom Dolan Swim School and currently serves as President of Corporate Pools for Big Blue Swim School, overseeing operations across 22 locations.

Tom Ugast

Veteran coach and club owner Tom Ugast brings decades of experience developing swimmers from beginner levels through elite competition.

Throughout his career, he has worked with athletes pursuing age-group, high school, collegiate, and national-level success. His extensive background in club management, financial oversight, and Local Swimming Committee (LSC) leadership provides valuable insight into athlete development and the operational needs of USA Swimming clubs.

Gunnar Bentz

Olympic gold medalist Gunnar Bentz represented Team USA at both the 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

Since retiring from elite competition, the former University of Georgia team captain has remained actively involved in the sport through the USA Swimming Athletes' Advisory Council, the National Team Steering Committee, and the House of Delegates. Bentz also spent time working with World Aquatics in Lausanne, Switzerland, and currently works in the data center industry.

The newly elected board members will help shape USA Swimming's strategic direction as the organization continues supporting athletes at every level of the sport while advancing competitive swimming across the United States.
