A trove of artwork, valuables and financial assets worth roughly $23 million is at the center of an ongoing investigation in Italy involving legendary Bond girl Ursula Andress.

Italian authorities announced Thursday that they have recovered the majority of the fortune, which was allegedly misappropriated by asset managers over several years. Officials confirmed the seizure of artworks, luxury goods and financial holdings totaling approximately €20 million.

“Assets fraudulently taken from Ursula Andress have been identified,” authorities said in a statement. “Goods, works of art and financial assets of significant value have been seized.”

Investigators traced the missing funds to the purchase of 11 properties, as well as 14 parcels of land used for vineyards and olive groves. Additional assets were located in Florence and across the Tuscan countryside.

Now 90, Andress revealed earlier this year that she had been defrauded of her fortune over an eight-year period. According to her account, the alleged scheme was carried out by a longtime financial adviser, who has since passed away.

“I am still in shock,” Andress told German outlet Blick. “I was deliberately targeted. For years, they gained my trust, deceived me and ultimately exploited my goodwill in a calculated and criminal way. They took advantage of my age.”

The Swiss-born actress rose to international fame as Honey Ryder in the 1962 James Bond film Dr. No, starring alongside Sean Connery. Her iconic scene emerging from the ocean in a white bikini became one of the most memorable moments in film history.

Andress later appeared in films such as Fun in Acapulco with Elvis Presley and Four for Texas alongside Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. She eventually transitioned to European film and television before stepping away from acting in the early 2000s.

Her son, Dimitri Hamlin, has previously spoken about the lasting impact of her career, noting her gratitude for the opportunities and relationships she built over the years.

“Overall, she feels very lucky,” Hamlin said in a past interview. “She had the chance to work with incredible people and be part of something that resonated with audiences around the world.”
