President of the Republic Zoran Milanović, currently on a two-day official visit to Hungary, met this evening in Budapest with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
During their talks, President Milanović reaffirmed his stance that every possible diplomatic effort should be made to restore peace and strengthen security in Europe — a position shared by Prime Minister Orbán.
Milanović is visiting Hungary at the invitation of Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok, with whom he held discussions earlier in the day. His meeting with Prime Minister Orbán concluded the first day of his official program.
Tomorrow in Pécs, he and President Sulyok will attend the ceremonial observance of the Day of Croats in Hungary, which also commemorates the 30th anniversary of the Croatian National Self-Government and the 35th anniversary of the Alliance of Croats in Hungary. Later, the two presidents will travel to the municipalities of Bilje and Kopačevo in Osijek-Baranja County, where they will meet with representatives of Croatia’s Hungarian minority.
