Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged, and the pop superstar is showcasing a diamond so impressive it could rival one of her new fiancé’s three Super Bowl rings.
According to Vogue, Kelce collaborated on the ring with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry. The engagement announcement, which has already garnered over 14 million likes on Instagram, has sparked excitement among both Swifties and jewelry experts.
Swift shared a close-up of the ring along with the news of their engagement. New York-based jeweler Stephanie Gottlieb tells Yahoo that the center stone appears to be an antique elongated cushion cut, estimated between eight to ten carats. She values a natural diamond of this quality in the range of $400,000 to $800,000. “Antique stones offer character that you can’t replicate,” Gottlieb adds.
Much like Swift herself, the ring is truly one of a kind—and perfectly on trend.
“A super-elongated antique cushion old mine cut is the most requested cut right now,” says Olivia Landau, founder of The Clear Cut. “It’s been trending for about a year and has become extremely popular, even though it’s very rare and difficult to source.”
The diamond’s antique quality aligns seamlessly with Swift’s vintage-inspired aesthetic. Landau notes that natural diamonds of this cut possess a distinctive charm that sets them apart from the lab-grown stones many brides currently choose. “With the rise of lab-grown diamonds, where everything is standardized and perfect, more people are seeking uniqueness and that imperfect vintage feel,” she explains.
The ring also features a rich yellow gold band, which further distinguishes it. “Thicker bands and chunkier gold make more of a statement than traditional dainty solitaires,” Landau observes. Megan Kothari of Aaryah agrees, pointing out the “delicate hand-engraving, filigree work, and potentially smaller pavé diamonds.”
Kindred Lubeck’s designs often include intricate band details, and bezel settings are a signature element of her work. Landau notes that Swift’s ring has a “setback bezel,” which enhances the vintage look without fully committing to a Georgian-style button-back setting. “It complements the antique center stone and is very indicative of her aesthetic,” she says.
While Gottlieb and Kothari estimate the diamond to be around 8-10 carats, Landau offers a different perspective: “It’s very elongated and somewhat shallow, which can make it appear larger than its actual carat weight. I’d estimate it’s closer to five, six, or maybe seven carats at most.”
Regardless of its exact size, one thing is certain: the ring will be nearly impossible to duplicate. “I’m honestly nervous,” Landau admits, anticipating a flood of requests from clients inspired by Swift’s reveal. “These diamonds are already highly sought after and incredibly hard to find. We’re going to see a huge spike in demand—and prices. It’s going to be quite challenging.”
