Suspect Identified in Michigan Walmart Stabbing Spree; Victims Recovering

Authorities have identified the man accused of wounding 11 people in a random knife attack at a Walmart in Traverse City, Michigan, on Saturday (July 26). The suspect, 42-year-old Bradford James Gille of Afton, Michigan, could face terrorism and 11 counts of attempted murder charges.

According to Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michael Shea, Gille has a history of assault and drug-related offenses. The motive for the attack remains unknown.

Of the victims, seven are in stable condition and four are seriously injured, according to Munson Healthcare, the region’s largest healthcare system. The injured range in age from 29 to 84, including one Walmart employee.

Quick Attack, Arrest Without Resistance

The suspect acted alone, using a folding knife, but was taken into custody within minutes with the help of bystanders who also aided the wounded.

“In the past 12 hours, we’ve seen encouraging signs of recovery in our patients,” the hospital said, praising its medical team for their dedication.

Chaotic Scene and Community Impact

Eyewitness Tiffany DeFell described the scene as “terrifying.” “This is something you see in movies, not something you expect where you live,” she told the Associated Press.

The FBI is assisting in the investigation. In a statement, Walmart condemned the violence and thanked law enforcement for their rapid response.
