Arizona Diamondbacks Send Trio to 2025 MLB All-Star Game
The Arizona Diamondbacks will be well-represented at the 2025 MLB All-Star Game in Atlanta, with not one, but three stars heading to Truist Park. Outfielder Corbin Carroll and third baseman Eugenio Suárez were named as reserves on Sunday, joining Ketel Marte, who secured his spot via fan voting.
Suárez and Carroll Earn Their Stripes
Eugenio Suárez, 33, is enjoying a career resurgence, slashing .255/.322/.569 with an .891 OPS. His 28 home runs rank fourth in MLB, while his 73 RBIs are tied for third. Despite losing the fan vote to San Diego’s Manny Machado and Los Angeles’ Max Muncy (since injured), Suárez leads all qualified third basemen in homers, RBIs, and OPS.
"This is very special for me," Suárez said after the announcement. "I’ve put in so much work—not just this year, but my entire career—to get back to this level. To be an All-Star again means everything." This marks his second selection, his first since 2018 with the Reds.
Meanwhile, Corbin Carroll made a swift return from a left wrist fracture, activated just a day before the All-Star reveal. The 24-year-old has bounced back emphatically from a rough 2024, already racking up 20 homers and an MLB-leading nine triples, alongside a .899 OPS.
"It’s a huge honor, especially after last year," Carroll said. "This recognition reflects not just my work, but our entire team’s effort. Individual success comes from collective performance." Carroll’s first All-Star nod came in 2023, the same year he won NL Rookie of the Year.
All-Star Game Details
The 2025 Midsummer Classic will take place on July 15 at 5:00 p.m. (Arizona time) in Atlanta. With Marte starting and Carroll/Suárez adding firepower off the bench, the D-backs’ trio will look to shine on baseball’s biggest stage.
