Cuisinart Recalls More Than 12,000 Gas Grills Over Shattering Glass Hazard
More than 12,000 Cuisinart gas grills have been recalled after reports that a tempered glass panel can unexpectedly shatter during use, creating a potential risk of serious injuries from flying glass.
The recall was announced by Conair, the company behind the Cuisinart brand, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
According to the CPSC, the company has received 37 reports of the tempered glass breaking while the grill was in operation. Although one fire was reported in connection with the defect, no injuries have been confirmed to date.
Which Product Is Affected?
The recall involves the Cuisinart Propel+ Four Burner 3-in-1 Gas Grill, a stainless-steel outdoor cooking unit that combines a traditional gas grill, a griddle, a side burner and a pizza oven. The tempered glass panel located on the pizza oven lid is the component involved in the recall.
The affected grills were sold between December 2024 and May 2026 through Lowe's, Walmart, and Cuisinart's official website, with retail prices ranging from $500 to $750.
What Owners Should Do
Consumers who own one of the recalled grills are advised to stop using it immediately and determine whether their model is included in the recall.
Owners should visit Conair's recall website, where they can follow step-by-step instructions for safely removing the tempered glass panel from the pizza oven. After removing the glass, customers must upload two photographs—one showing the detached glass panel and another displaying the grill's serial number.
Once the information is verified, eligible customers can choose between receiving a $500 refund by check or reimbursement for the original purchase price if they provide proof of purchase.
After receiving compensation, consumers are instructed to clearly write the word "Recall" on the removed glass panel with a permanent marker before disposing of it properly.
Safety Reminder
While no injuries have been reported, the CPSC emphasizes that the possibility of the glass shattering during normal operation presents a significant safety concern. Consumers are encouraged to act promptly to avoid the risk of cuts or other injuries and to complete the recall process as soon as possible.
