VANCOUVER, British Columbia — Aatu Raty delivered an outstanding performance with two goals and an assist, leading the Vancouver Canucks to a 4-2 win over the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night and snapping their four-game losing streak.
Tom Willander and defenseman Elias Pettersson also scored for the Canucks, while goaltender Nikita Tolopilo made 27 saves.
For the Wild, Matt Boldy and Mats Zuccarello scored. Jesper Wallstedt stopped 16 shots but suffered his first regulation loss in 11 starts this season (8-1-2). He had allowed only five goals in his previous six games — including four shutouts — before giving up four in this matchup.
Boldy opened the scoring on the first shot of the game at 3:11 of the first period, but Vancouver took over in the second, scoring three goals in just 5:43. Willander’s goal at 9:29 was the first of his NHL career, while Pettersson scored his first of the season — and the second of his career — at 11:46. Raty extended the lead to 3-1 with 4:48 left in the period.
In the third, Raty struck again at 5:09, pushing the lead to three goals. Zuccarello added a late power-play goal with 2:38 remaining.
Before what would have been his 500th career game, forward Elias Pettersson left warmups with an upper-body injury and was scratched from the lineup.
