Perez Hilton Hospitalized After Authorities Respond to Distressing Livestream

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton was hospitalized Tuesday night after authorities responded to reports of a concerning livestream that prompted multiple emergency calls, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence in Miami-Dade County's Westchester neighborhood after receiving reports that an individual was broadcasting behavior suggesting self-harm on social media.

The livestream, which was reportedly broadcast on TikTok before being removed from the platform, appeared to show Hilton, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira, with visible injuries. Viewers watching the broadcast urged him to seek help and attempted to alert emergency responders.

Television footage later captured emergency personnel at the residence before paramedics transported one individual to a nearby hospital. Authorities said they had spoken with family members and confirmed that only one person was inside the home when deputies arrived.

Initially, the sheriff's office did not publicly identify the individual involved. Later, officials confirmed that the person had been safely taken into protective custody and transported to a medical facility. On Wednesday, authorities identified that individual as Perez Hilton and said he had been placed under Florida's Baker Act, which allows for an involuntary mental health evaluation when someone is believed to pose an immediate risk to themselves or others.

Neighbors said they were unaware that the home's resident was the well-known entertainment blogger. One resident recalled seeing a large law enforcement response before an ambulance arrived around midnight.

In a statement posted on Hilton's official website, his family and team thanked supporters for their concern and confirmed that he is receiving medical care.

"Many of you have reached out with concern for Perez, and we are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming outpouring of love, support, and prayers," the statement said. "We can confirm that Perez is receiving medical care, and our family's focus right now is on his well-being."

Authorities said crisis intervention techniques were used during the response in an effort to peacefully resolve the situation.

Hilton's agent and Golden Artists Entertainment CEO Dante Rusciolelli also released a statement, emphasizing that the family's priority remains Hilton's recovery.

"At this time, we do not have any additional confirmed information to share regarding Perez Hilton's condition," the statement read. "Our focus remains on Perez's health, recovery, and the privacy of both him and his family during this incredibly difficult time. We are grateful for the outpouring of concern and support from fans, friends, and members of the media, and respectfully ask that everyone continue to honor his privacy while he receives the care he needs."
