Palm Springs Gears Up for Three Days of Patriotic Fun to Celebrate America's 250th Birthday
Palm Springs is set to commemorate America's 250th anniversary with a three-day Independence Day celebration featuring a variety of family-friendly activities, live entertainment and community events across the city. Most festivities are free and open to the public, offering residents and visitors an exciting holiday weekend filled with patriotic spirit.
The celebration begins Thursday evening during VillageFest, where downtown Palm Springs will come alive with live music, interactive games, arts and crafts, and complimentary snow cones for attendees. The festivities will take place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., creating a festive atmosphere to kick off the holiday weekend.
On Friday, families can cool off during a free Dive-In Movie Night at the Palm Springs Swim Center. Beginning at 6 p.m., guests will be invited to enjoy an evening by the pool before the classic baseball film "The Sandlot" is screened under the stars at 7 p.m.
The celebration reaches its grand finale on Saturday at Sunrise Park, where activities begin at 3 p.m. with an all-day pool party and continue through the evening. Visitors can enjoy patriotic-themed games, arts and crafts, face painting, family activities and interactive photo stations designed for guests of all ages.
A special All-American History Wall will also be on display, highlighting key moments in the nation's history as part of the celebration marking America's 250th birthday.
Sports fans can head to Palm Springs Stadium at 6 p.m. to watch the Palm Springs Power baseball team compete in a special Independence Day game. Tickets for the game are available for purchase through the team's website or at the stadium box office.
Following the game, the festivities continue with a free Concert in the Park beginning at 7 p.m., featuring Turn the Page, a tribute band celebrating the music of legendary rock artist Bob Seger.
The weekend concludes with the highly anticipated Palm Springs Fireworks Spectacular, scheduled to begin promptly at 9:15 p.m. The dazzling fireworks display will illuminate the desert sky in honor of Independence Day while celebrating the historic milestone of the United States' 250th anniversary.
With live entertainment, family activities, sports, music and one of the region's signature fireworks shows, Palm Springs is preparing to deliver an unforgettable Fourth of July celebration for residents and visitors alike.
