GREEN BAY, Wis. — Running back Josh Jacobs will miss Sunday’s game against the Vikings due to the knee injury he suffered last week against the Giants.

The Packers will also be without wide receiver Matthew Golden, who was ruled inactive because of shoulder and wrist injuries.

The decision to rest Jacobs was likely influenced by the short turnaround, as the team plays again on Thursday in Detroit in one of the Thanksgiving Day games.

Jacobs said earlier in the week that if he were to miss any time, it would only be one game.

“In the worst-case scenario, if I don’t play this week, I’ll definitely be playing on Thursday,” Jacobs said. “It’s not something that will linger beyond that. That’s really the worst-case situation.”

Tests revealed a contusion, and Jacobs noted that his knee swelled significantly after the injury. He blamed the hard surface at MetLife Stadium for what happened.

“Definitely the worst,” Jacobs said about the field. “It’s always been the worst.”
