The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers renewed their NFC North rivalry in Week 5, with the Packers looking to secure their first home victory of the season at Lambeau Field. Chicago entered the matchup with a 3-1 record, while Green Bay sought to climb back above .500 after an inconsistent start.

The Bears were once again without starting quarterback Caleb Williams, who continues to recover from the hamstring injury he suffered in Week 2. Backup Tyson Bagent made his second consecutive start after helping Chicago defeat the New York Jets the previous week.

Bagent threw for 268 yards and one interception against New York and benefited from another full week of first-team practice. However, Chicago's offense faced another setback with leading rusher Kyle Monangai sidelined because of a toe injury. Monangai rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns in Week 4, leaving the Bears to adjust their ground attack.

Meanwhile, the Packers were eager to give their home fans something to celebrate after opening the season without a win at Lambeau. Green Bay's home-opening loss to the Atlanta Falcons increased pressure on head coach Matt LaFleur, whose team had struggled to find consistency despite victories over the New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Although the Packers entered the game with a 2-2 record, both of their wins came by narrow margins against opponents that had combined for just one victory this season, raising questions about Green Bay's overall form.

With both teams chasing crucial divisional momentum, the rivalry clash carried added importance as the NFC North standings continued to take shape early in the season.
