The Green Bay Packers have opened the 2025 season in style with back-to-back wins.
After a statement victory over the Detroit Lions in Week 1, Green Bay followed up with a 27-18 win over Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders on “Thursday Night Football” at Lambeau Field.
The Packers set the tone early, jumping out to a 14-3 halftime lead behind two 90-plus yard touchdown drives engineered by Jordan Love. Tight end Tucker Kraft shined as the top target, hauling in six catches for 124 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, Green Bay contained Washington’s high-powered attack for most of the night, though Daniels managed to lead two second-half scoring drives to keep the Commanders in the game.
An area of concern for the Packers is the health of wide receiver Jayden Reed, who exited the game on the opening drive with a shoulder injury.
With the win, the Packers are 2-0 for the first time since 2020—a season in which they finished as the NFC’s No. 1 seed. Early as it may be, both victories have come against NFC opponents who finished ahead of Green Bay in last year’s standings, a promising sign for Matt LaFleur’s squad.
The Packers now enjoy a 10-day break before traveling to Cleveland to face the Browns.
