Sharon Osbourne Reveals Emotional Motivation Behind Ozzy’s Final Show

Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy’s wife of over 40 years, shared with Billboard that the July 5 benefit concert "Back to the Beginning" in Birmingham, England—billed as Ozzy and Black Sabbath’s final performance—was her idea.

“It was my idea,” she said. “His one regret was not properly thanking his fans before his [2018 No More Tours 2] retirement tour ended abruptly due to his illness. We’d only completed nine months.”

The historic show reunited Black Sabbath’s original lineup for the first time in two decades. A concert film, Back to the Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow, featuring footage from the event, is reportedly set for release in early 2026.

Despite his health struggles, Ozzy insisted on performing one last time. Sharon explained: “He kept saying, ‘I need to say thank you.’ This was the perfect way—a celebration of his legacy and Sabbath’s music.”
