The wait is over! The 2025 season kicks off with a classic in Miami tonight. In a matchup that needs no introduction, No. 6 Notre Dame takes on No. 10 Miami.

Notre Dame arrives with the mission to finish the job in 2025, after reaching the national championship last season. On the other side, Miami looks to build on a 10-win season and finally break through the College Football Playoff door.

Notre Dame 0 - Miami 0 – 1st Quarter, 8:00 remaining
Right from the start, a classic Mario Cristobal move: Miami calls a timeout on fourth down, only to fair catch the ensuing punt at the 5-yard line.

Miami surprises by coming out with some up-tempo offense. QB Beck found a bit of a rhythm, but Notre Dame's defense answered with a huge stop by Boubacar Traore off the edge to kill the drive.

Notre Dame comes out throwing, likely to try and set up the run. The idea is to relieve pressure from Miami's formidable defensive front with short passes.

QB Carr looks a little shaky to start. His first pass, a screen, was short and resulted in a 2-yard loss. On second down, a throw to Love was late, preventing the opening drive from continuing.
