No. 21 Notre Dame rolls to an effortless, entertaining win

That was almost unreal.
For No. 21 Notre Dame, it was ridiculously easy — especially on offense.
The Irish attack played with total freedom, showing no concern for defensive lapses that had plagued them in three straight games. It didn’t matter what Arkansas tried defensively, or even that this was Notre Dame’s first-ever visit to Fayetteville. From the opening snap, it was clear: this was going to be a highlight reel.
Notre Dame (2-2) piled up 420 yards in the first half alone — 294 through the air — and scored touchdowns on all six possessions before coasting to a 56-13 win. At halftime, the Irish led 42-13 thanks to four touchdowns from Jeremiyah Love, who barely needed to play after that.
Even when Notre Dame took chances, everything worked. A fake punt from their own 25-yard line in the third quarter turned into a 40-yard gain. Big plays were everywhere. Jadarian Price found the end zone on untouched runs that looked more like practice than live competition.
Quarterback CJ Carr was sharp, going 16-of-22 for 294 yards and four touchdowns — all in the first half. His third scoring pass was backyard-football stuff: a throwback to Love, who had four linemen escorting him downfield like a convoy.
It looked unfair — men against boys, varsity versus freshmen. By halftime, even Arkansas fans seemed checked out.
Still, Notre Dame’s defense remains the biggest question mark. Too many leaks at every level make the idea of running the table — 10 straight wins — feel far-fetched. Last year’s defense could have carried them. This one? Much less certain.
Arkansas gave an early glimpse of hope, marching 54 yards on its opening drive before stalling for a field goal. But once the Irish got the ball, the outcome was never in doubt. Their first two scoring drives covered 160 yards with shocking ease, like they were playing 11-on-9.
The Irish also debuted their all-white uniforms, a look that seems to grow more natural every outing. Their last time in all white was against USC last November, a win that sealed a College Football Playoff home game.
Saturday’s victory, then, kept those CFP hopes alive another week. Two wins down. Eight to go.
