Courtney Love’s former mansion has fallen into serious disrepair.

Once envisioned as a peaceful country retreat, the former Olympia, Washington, home of rock icon Courtney Love now stands as a striking example of long-term neglect. Newly surfaced photos reveal the deteriorated condition of the property, which has been left abandoned, marked by graffiti and structural decay after years without upkeep.

Love purchased the three-bedroom cottage in the mid-1990s, shortly after the death of her husband, Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. Situated on nearly seven acres of secluded land, the property was intended to offer privacy and respite. Instead, images show a starkly different reality: broken bricks scattered across interior floors, visible fire damage to guest structures, and outbuildings — including former stables — heavily vandalized with graffiti.

Real estate listings from later years described the estate as a “major fixer” requiring extensive work and cautioned that it was “not for the faint of heart.” The once-charming rural escape was ultimately sold at a significant loss, surprising fans and observers with the extent of its decline.

Exterior photos capture boarded sections, peeling paint and widespread vandalism across the grounds. Inside the outbuildings, walls are almost entirely covered in spray paint, with debris littering the floors and open doorways exposing the structures to the elements. A guest cottage on the property also showed signs of fire damage, further underscoring the overall deterioration.
