Netflix will soon host another major boxing event.
The sports streaming service, which boasts 300 million subscribers and will broadcast the September 13 pound-for-pound showdown between Saúl "Canelo" Álvarez and Terence Crawford, began its boxing journey with Jake Paul's controversial fight against Mike Tyson last November in Arlington, Texas. Now, it is set to host another contentious yet highly lucrative Paul showdown.
Paul will face Gervonta "Tank" Davis in a Netflix boxing match at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 14 — almost exactly one year after his fight with Tyson.
Ring Magazine initially reported on Wednesday that the bout was scheduled for November 15, following a since-deleted post from Netflix Turkey's official account with the same details. Uncrowned later learned that the reported venue was already booked for Nate Bargatze's "Big Dumb Eyes" tour on November 15, leading to the November 14 date that all parties agreed upon.

Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) was in talks to face former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua next, but the bout reportedly fell through due to broadcasting issues. The internet star-turned-boxer defeated his second former world champion, Julio César Chávez Jr., by unanimous decision in California last June, earning his first world ranking.
It was widely believed that Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs) would have a rematch with Lamont Roach on August 16, after their controversial draw last March, which followed Davis' infamous knee-down controversy. However, the two-division champion was forced to exchange a fight date for a court date after being arrested in July on a misdemeanor domestic violence battery charge. His ex-girlfriend accused him of hitting her on the back of the head and slapping her during an alleged altercation on June 15. The charge was dropped last week after the alleged victim refused to cooperate with the prosecution.
On Friday, Roach told Boxing Scene — the media outlet owned by his co-promoter ProBoxTV — that he was "moving on" from an immediate rematch with "Tank," as he believed Davis' team was not interested in a second fight.
Paul vs. Davis could be compelling viewing. Davis is far more experienced than Paul, but he will likely enter the ring at a more than 50-pound weight disadvantage.
