According to market intelligence firm Apptopia, Muse recorded 1.8 million iOS downloads across the United States and Canada during its first 12 days—surpassing ChatGPT's 1.3 million downloads over the same period following its launch. Including Android downloads, Muse reached approximately 2.8 million total installations.

The impressive start propelled Muse to the No. 1 position among free iPhone apps, overtaking ChatGPT. It has also climbed to the top of the free Android app rankings.

High User Engagement

Beyond download numbers, Muse has generated strong user engagement. During its first 12 days, the AI assistant averaged approximately 642,000 daily active users, nearly three times the 231,000 daily users ChatGPT attracted during its own launch period.

The app has also earned a 4.9-star rating on Apple's App Store, supported by more than 36,000 user reviews, reflecting strong early customer satisfaction.

Meta Leverages Its Massive User Base

Meta's extensive ecosystem has played a key role in Muse's rapid adoption. With more than 3.6 billion users across Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and other platforms, the company has been able to promote its new AI assistant directly to its existing audience.

Apptopia estimates that 95% of Muse users are also Facebook users, while 63% actively use Instagram, highlighting the advantage Meta enjoys in introducing new products to its global network.

Growing Investor Interest

Muse's record-setting launch has strengthened investor optimism about Meta's expanding AI strategy. The company's ability to combine advanced AI technology with its enormous social media ecosystem could help accelerate adoption and create new opportunities across consumer services, digital commerce and advertising.
