We’ve reached the end of the first quarter at U.S. Bank Stadium, and the Minnesota Vikings hold a 7–0 lead over the Detroit Lions.

(This recap will be a bit shorter than usual, as I listened to the game on the radio while driving home from work — thanks for bearing with me.)

Minnesota received the opening kickoff but went three-and-out. Detroit then followed with a punt of its own. On the Vikings’ next possession, they crossed into Lions territory before Max Brosmer was sacked, forcing another punt.

The first major swing came shortly after. Following a successful Vikings challenge, Jared Goff mishandled a snap on third down, and Andrew Van Ginkel pounced on the loose ball deep in Detroit territory.

Minnesota quickly capitalized, as Aaron Jones powered in from a yard out to give the Vikings a 7–0 advantage.

That’s where things stand after 15 minutes of play. Detroit currently has possession near midfield as we begin the second quarter.

Come hang out with us for the rest of the action as the Vikings continue to lead the Lions, 7–0!
