FC Barcelona visited Celta de Vigo this Sunday, November 9, at the Abanca Balaídos Stadium for Matchday 12 of LaLiga. The game turned out to be far more complicated than expected for the Blaugrana, but Robert Lewandowski — returning after a month out with injury — once again became the difference-maker in the team’s pursuit of victory.
The Polish striker opened the scoring just 10 minutes in. After the referee called a handball on Marcos Alonso inside the box, Lewandowski converted the penalty with precision, sending Ionut Radu the wrong way to make it 0–1 for Barcelona.
In the 37th minute, Lewandowski struck again. Set up beautifully by Marcus Rashford, the forward netted the temporary 1–2 for Barça. Then, in the 73rd minute, he completed his hat-trick, sealing a 2–4 win for Hansi Flick’s side.
With this performance, Lewandowski reached 107 goals wearing the Barcelona jersey, climbing higher in the club’s all-time scoring charts. His brace against Celta allowed him to tie Paraguayan legend Eulogio Martínez — one of Barça’s great icons from the 1950s — and surpass Neymar and Evaristo, who both finished with 105 goals.
The Polish legend’s next target is Luis Enrique, who scored 108 goals for Barcelona between 1996 and 2004.
According to recent reports, uncertainty still surrounds Lewandowski’s future at the club. The 37-year-old striker’s contract runs until June 2026, but it remains unclear whether he will renew or seek a new challenge elsewhere.
How high will Robert Lewandowski climb on Barcelona’s all-time scoring list by June — if this turns out to be his final season in Blaugrana colors? And would Barça be making a mistake by letting him go?
