Hunter Biden Criticizes George Clooney in Interview Following Tenacious D Controversy
In a lengthy interview with Hunter Biden, son of former U.S. President Joe Biden, reporter Andrew Callaghan made startling allegations about George Clooney and the comedy-rock duo Tenacious D, composed of Jack Black and Kyle Gass. According to Callaghan, Clooney allegedly pressured Black to disband Tenacious D after Gass made a controversial remark about the 2024 assassination attempt on Donald Trump.
During a concert in Sydney the day after the attack, Gass reportedly told the crowd, "Next time you shoot at Trump, aim better." Callaghan claims that, in response, Clooney demanded Black remove Gass from the band and cancel their tour.
Representatives for Clooney and Jack Black did not respond to Variety’s requests for comment.
Accusations Against Amal Clooney and Hunter Biden’s Reaction
Later in the interview, Callaghan mentioned an alleged connection between Amal Clooney, George’s wife, and a full-page ad calling for an arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Hunter Biden, visibly angered, lashed out at Clooney:
"Fuck him! He’s not a real actor, he’s a brand. Why should I have to listen to this guy?"
Despite the criticism, Biden acknowledged that Clooney "treats his friends well" and has "a great house in Lake Como," but maintained a hostile tone, accusing him of trying to undermine his father politically.
The Tenacious D Incident
During the concert in question (July 14, 2024), Gass made the remark after Black presented him with a birthday cake onstage. Black later released a statement condemning the comment and announcing the tour’s cancellation:
"I was blindsided by what was said at the show. I would never support hate speech or political violence. Because of this, we are putting all future Tenacious D plans on hold."
