Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano are set to make highly anticipated returns to mixed martial arts on Saturday as the headline bout of the first MMA event promoted by Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions. The event will take place at Intuit Dome in California.

Rousey, now 39, returns to MMA competition for the first time since suffering a knockout loss to Amanda Nunes in December 2016. The former UFC women’s bantamweight champion remains one of the most influential athletes in women’s MMA history.

Meanwhile, Carano, 44, will step back into the cage after an absence of nearly 17 years. Her most recent MMA appearance came in August 2009, when she lost to Cris Cyborg by first-round knockout.

The event is built around the theme of major MMA comebacks, with several former stars returning to competition throughout the main card.

Nate Diaz is also returning to MMA action, competing in four-ounce gloves for the first time in nearly four years as he faces former UFC fighter Mike Perry. Diaz last fought in MMA in September 2022, defeating Tony Ferguson by submission.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou will make his return to MMA following a two-year break during which he pursued professional boxing matches against Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. Ngannou is scheduled to face veteran heavyweight Philipe Lins, winner of the 2018 PFL heavyweight tournament.

Opening the main card, former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos will return to the cage for the first time since 2022 against former UFC competitor Robelis Despaigne.

The event will also feature the American debut of KSW lightweight standout Salahdine Parnasse, who is scheduled to face Syndicate MMA fighter Kenneth Cross.

Coverage and live analysis from the event will be provided throughout the night from the Intuit Dome.
