A Heat Advisory remains in effect across Greater Cincinnati and the Tri-State as dangerously high temperatures and oppressive humidity continue through Wednesday and Thursday. Forecasters warn that heat index values could climb as high as 105 degrees, creating hazardous conditions for anyone spending extended time outdoors.
Wednesday is expected to be the hottest day of the week, with mostly sunny skies and afternoon highs reaching the mid-90s. Overnight temperatures will offer little relief, remaining in the mid-70s as warm, humid conditions persist.
The intense heat will continue into Thursday, when temperatures are once again forecast to reach the mid-90s with heat index values near 105 degrees. While much of the day will remain hot and sunny, the chance for scattered thunderstorms will begin to increase later in the afternoon, especially across northern areas.
Forecasters also note a marginal risk of severe weather on Thursday, with isolated heavy rainfall capable of producing localized flooding where storms repeatedly move over the same locations.
Weather conditions are expected to become more active over the weekend, bringing a better chance for showers and thunderstorms on Saturday along with slightly cooler temperatures around 90 degrees. By Sunday, the region should finally experience more comfortable conditions, with highs easing into the mid-to-upper 80s under mostly sunny skies. Labor Day is also expected to remain warm but significantly less oppressive than earlier in the week.
