Grammy Nominations Highlight Tiny Desk’s Musical Influence
The Grammy nominations were announced today, and once again, the list of honorees across 95 categories reflects the incredible range of artists who’ve taken a seat behind the Tiny Desk. Performing live in NPR’s music office—without monitors or backing tracks—these musicians showcase not only their raw talent but also their ability to connect deeply with audiences in a uniquely intimate setting.
Kendrick Lamar, last year’s most-awarded artist, once again leads the pack for the 68th Grammy Awards with nine nominations, including Record, Song, and Album of the Year.
It’s no surprise that many of 2026’s most celebrated nominees—rappers, rockers, legends, and fresh faces alike—performed at the Tiny Desk in just the past year. We’ll admit, it feels pretty great to see how many of these artists first shared their magic here.
And here’s something extra special: the words “Tiny Desk” even appear next to one of this year’s nominated songs—Leon Thomas’ “Mutt”, up for Best R&B Performance. Meanwhile, Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso’s PAPOTA, nominated for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album, features tracks recorded during their Tiny Desk performance in 2024. Yes, we’re definitely taking a proud bow.
So, let’s celebrate the incredible lineup of artists who brought their sound to the Tiny Desk in 2025—and remember, there’s still more great music to come.
