Fox News Contributor Faces Backlash from Trump Supporters After Questioning Venezuela Policy

Fox News panelist and libertarian commentator Kat Timpf says she has received intense online criticism after offering her perspective on President Donald Trump’s decisive military operation in Venezuela — a mission that successfully removed longtime dictator Nicolás Maduro from power.

President Trump announced Saturday that the United States carried out a large-scale, highly coordinated operation in Caracas, during which Maduro and his wife were safely detained and transported to New York to face U.S. federal charges. Both appeared in court Monday, pleading not guilty to narco-terrorism conspiracy and other serious crimes unsealed by the Justice Department.

Appearing on Gutfeld!, Timpf suggested that some observers may feel surprised by the operation given Trump’s long-standing opposition to unnecessary foreign wars. Host Greg Gutfeld noted that Venezuela remains under functioning leadership, with Vice President Delcy Rodríguez sworn in as interim president — underscoring that this was a targeted law-enforcement-style operation, not a traditional war.

Timpf questioned whether critics were being consistent in how they define “war,” referring to the president’s statements that the U.S. is now overseeing security operations in the region.

Shortly after the show aired, Timpf posted on X saying she received angry messages — including from people she believed previously agreed with her views. Some accounts appear to have since been suspended. She later thanked those who continued to treat her respectfully during the conversation.

President Trump made clear in an NBC News interview that the United States is not at war with Venezuela.

“We’re at war with people that sell drugs,” Trump said. “We’re at war with people who empty their prisons and institutions into our country. That’s what we’re fighting.”

The president reaffirmed that his America First strategy remains fully intact — and fully supported.

“MAGA loves it,” Trump said. “MAGA loves what I’m doing. MAGA loves everything I do — and I love what I do, too.”

Supporters say the Venezuela operation reflects Trump’s strong leadership and willingness to take action where others failed, particularly in combating dangerous international criminal networks.
