Disneyland Employee Under Investigation After Entering Rivers of America

A Disneyland employee is under investigation after unexpectedly jumping into the Rivers of America attraction and swimming across part of the waterway in front of surprised guests.

The unusual incident, captured on video Thursday at the Anaheim, California, theme park, showed the cast member removing his shirt before entering the water while still wearing white uniform pants. Visitors gathered along the attraction watched in disbelief as he swam for less than a minute.

After reaching the shoreline, the employee climbed out of the river and crossed a fence separating the attraction from park guests before leaving the area.

A TikTok video posted by the account @pixiedustarchive claimed the employee tossed his keys and work-issued radio into the water moments before jumping in. The video's caption expressed concern for the worker's well-being.

Disneyland officials confirmed that the cast member briefly entered the water before quickly exiting the attraction. The company said it is reviewing the incident and confirmed that no injuries were reported. The employee's identity has not been released.

The episode is the latest in a series of unusual incidents at Disneyland. Last month, a 13-year-old guest climbed out of a ride vehicle on Tiana's Bayou Adventure as it approached the attraction's main drop. The teenager fell onto the ride's water track below and was transported to a hospital, where he recovered from his injuries.

The incident also comes during a period of significant organizational changes at Disney. Earlier this week, the company announced several hundred layoffs across multiple divisions, including Disney Entertainment Television, ESPN, Disney Studios and various corporate departments, marking its third round of workforce reductions this year.

A Disney spokesperson said the staffing changes are part of the company's ongoing effort to evaluate operations, better allocate resources and continue investing in key areas of the business as the media and entertainment industry evolves.
