Dallas ICE Facility Shooting: Gunman Dead, Two Detainees Killed, One Critical

A sniper opened fire early Wednesday morning at the Dallas ICE detention center on North Stemmons Freeway, shooting three detainees before dying from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Law enforcement officials confirmed the incident began around 6:30 a.m. Dallas police discovered four people shot — two of whom, including the shooter, were pronounced dead at the scene. A second detainee later died at the hospital, while a third remains in critical condition.

Authorities said none of the victims were ICE officers. The shooter, identified as 29-year-old Joshua Jahn, was armed with a rifle and positioned on the roof of a nearby building. Sources revealed that bullets recovered at the scene were engraved with anti-ICE messages.

The FBI is treating the attack as a case of targeted violence. Officials also located a car believed to belong to Jahn with strange writings referencing nuclear fallout.

Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson urged calm, asking the community to pray for the victims’ families and allow investigators to complete their work. U.S. Senator Ted Cruz condemned the attack, warning that extreme anti-ICE rhetoric can inspire acts of violence, while Governor Greg Abbott reaffirmed Texas’ full support for ICE operations.
