Attention Chase Bank customers:

All branches across the United States will be closed on Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.

This closure follows the federal holiday calendar and will also apply to other major financial institutions.

While ATMs and online banking will remain available, some digital services may experience delays in processing transfers, payments, or automatic deposits.

Customers are encouraged to complete any in-person transactions or banking activities by Thursday, July 3.

Bank Holiday on July 4

July 4 is a nationwide non-business day, and in the banking sector, it’s often referred to as a "bank shutdown" due to widespread closures. In addition to Chase, the following banks will also be closed on Independence Day:

Wells Fargo

Bank of America

Citibank

TD Bank

J.P. Morgan

This means no in-person services will be available, and some online services may run slower due to high demand.

Other Federal Holidays When Chase Closes

In addition to July 4, Chase Bank branches will also be closed on the following federal holidays:

New Year’s Day (January 1)

Martin Luther King Jr. Day (3rd Monday in January)

Presidents’ Day (3rd Monday in February)

Memorial Day (Last Monday in May)

Juneteenth (June 19)

Independence Day (July 4)

Labor Day (1st Monday in September)

Thanksgiving Day (4th Thursday in November)

Christmas Day (December 25)

During these holidays, ATMs, online banking, and the mobile app will remain operational, but some electronic transactions may not be processed until the next business day.

What Is Celebrated on July 4?

Independence Day commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, when the 13 American colonies formally broke away from British rule.

It is one of the most important U.S. holidays, celebrated with parades, fireworks, and community events. As a result, both the public and private sectors typically suspend operations on this day.
