Benny Johnson praised President Donald Trump following new comments from Iran’s leadership signaling a willingness to avoid pursuing nuclear weapons and reduce tensions in the Middle East.
During his program, Johnson called the developments a major diplomatic victory for Trump and his supporters, arguing that the president’s approach is helping steer the region away from another costly conflict.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian recently stated that Iran wants to assure the international community that it is not seeking nuclear weapons and does not intend to destabilize the region. Johnson described the statement as an important breakthrough in ongoing negotiations and a sign that Trump’s pressure campaign and diplomacy are producing results.
Johnson sharply criticized several prominent conservative voices and Republican lawmakers who have expressed skepticism about negotiations with Iran, including Mark Levin, Roger Wicker, and Ted Cruz.
According to Johnson, many Americans are exhausted by years of foreign wars and support a stronger “America First” foreign policy focused on avoiding unnecessary military conflicts while protecting U.S. interests.
He argued that Trump’s supporters are increasingly backing diplomatic solutions that prioritize peace, economic stability, and national security rather than deeper military involvement overseas.
Johnson also accused some political commentators and foreign policy figures of pushing aggressive interventionist positions that he believes do not reflect the priorities of everyday American voters.
In his remarks, he contrasted Trump’s approach with previous foreign policy strategies associated with Washington’s political establishment, saying many conservatives now favor negotiations and strategic leverage over prolonged military action abroad.
Johnson additionally criticized former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, claiming some former officials failed to fully support Trump’s agenda during and after his presidency.
The comments highlight growing debate within conservative circles over U.S. foreign policy, particularly regarding Iran, Israel, and America’s broader role in Middle East conflicts.
Supporters of Trump’s diplomatic strategy argue that reducing tensions through negotiations could strengthen U.S. stability and prevent another long-term military engagement, while critics remain cautious about trusting Iran’s leadership and intentions.
