Barcelona mounted a stunning second-half comeback to overturn a two-goal deficit and secure a dramatic 3–2 victory over Levante, claiming a crucial three points that could prove vital in the tight La Liga title race.
Despite enjoying early possession, Barça looked vulnerable defensively and fell behind in the 15th minute. After having an earlier effort ruled out, Levante expertly exploited Barça’s high line. Jeremy Toljan found Iván Romero, who cleverly turned past Pau Cubarsí before firing a low finish into the net.
The visitors controlled the ball but lacked precision in front of goal. Their best chance of the half fell to Ferran Torres, who struck the crossbar from close range after being played through by Pedri.
Just before halftime, Levante extended their lead. Alejandro Balde was penalized for a handball in the box, and José Luis Morales calmly converted the resulting penalty with the last kick of the first half.
Barça responded immediately after the break. Pedri ignited the comeback with a magnificent long-range strike into the top corner just seven minutes into the second half. Moments later, Ferran Torres made amends for his earlier miss by volleying home the equalizer from a Raphinha corner.
Hansi Flick’s side poured forward in search of a winner, pinning Levante deep in their own half. The pressure told in stoppage time when Lamine Yamal—a constant threat after the break—delivered a dangerous cross that Unai Elgezabal inadvertently headed into his own net.
Barcelona saw out the remaining moments to clinch a memorable win. Still, despite the character shown, Flick will be concerned by the defensive vulnerabilities exposed so early in the season.
